Awaiting Funding

Here at Curucutu Parques Ambientais we have many projects we would like to implement. However, most of them require resources we do not have available yet. On this page, you can see a few of the ideas we have for improving Curucutu and the quality of life of its surrounding population.

If you would like to support any of these projects, please use our contact form to get in touch with us. You may also e-mail us directly at contato@curucutu.org.br for more information. If you are a Brazilian citizen or business, you can also learn more about tax deductions available for contributors by clicking here (Portuguese language only).

NATIVE BEES

Objective: to develop partnerships that allow us to improve our conditions to restore and protect the population of native bees. With an essential role to play in pollination, these species can greatly aid our environmental recovery efforts.

AGROFOREST

Objective: to implement an agroforestry system that allows for the creation of a highly diverse and complex forest, with species that perform different functions and also have more productive potential that can help to financially support Curucutu Parques Ambientais.

RURAL SEWAGE

Objective: to apply new technologies that will improve domestic sewage destination for the families residing within Sítio Curucutu’s territory. With seven households available for the installation of different types of sewage systems, it would be possible to test the efficiency of each one of them and then find out which would be the best solution for inhabitants in the area.

ORGANIC GARDEN

Objective: to promote soil fertility, preservation of natural resources and an increase in biodiversity through a cultivation process more attuned with the laws of nature and respect for the environment. The organic garden would enable the ecologically-friendly farming of vegetables, fruits and herbs, with proper soil treatment, and without the use of pesticides or fire-fallow cultivation, resulting in a cleaner, healthier product.

MANAGEMENT OF RURAL DOMESTIC WASTE

Objective: to develop projects for the implementation of appropriate waste management. Many inhabitants of rural areas have grown up with the habit of disposing of garbage on the river banks, in their backyards, by burying it, or even incinerating it. We aim to change those habits, improving the health and safety of these inhabitants, their environment, and thus their quality of life.

PEACH-PALM PROJECT

Objective: to promote the local market and generate resources for Curucutu’s self-sustainability through the planting of up to two million peach-palms, which can then be commercialized.

NATIVE-PLANTS NURSERY

Objective: to build a plant nursery to grow saplings of native Brazilian Atlantic Forest species for Curucutu’s reforestation, as well as other surrounding properties that aim to restore their own deforested areas.
